DNIPROPETROVSK MEDICAL ACADEMY

The Dnipropetrovsk State Medical University was founded on 15th September, 1916. The university was founded mainly to provide higher education to women specially. Area of about 85 hectares has been occupied by the Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy. The academy has 8 buildings with 608 classrooms, offices and laboratories and it covers a total area of 52000 square meters.

The academy has 28 hospitals in the city of Dnipropetrovsk and in these hospitals there are 42 clinical departments of Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy. In these departments there are 15000 beds which are in use.

M. Shumlyansky reported on his “Reasoning on the Medical Benefits of the Mineral Waters of Constantinograd”, and F. V. Pilger – “A Short Discussion on the infection that rages in some provinces among horned cattle”.

Donetsk National Medical University «DNMU» is state owned higher educational establishment of Ukraine. DNMU is the best and the largest medical university in Eastern Europe. Donetsk National Medical University «DNMU» was established in 1930 as M. Gorky Donetsk Medical Institute. After the Second World War, Institute was renamed to Stalino Medical Institute.
